As (very) young adults, we spent several weekends every year hiking the trails throughout Hockley Valley and always admired the landscape of this beautiful part of our province. It was our dream to leave the suburban life behind and reside in a space much more serene and peaceful. We found our home here at Hockley Valley Farm.
During his youth, Jason spent much of his free time as a helping hand on family farms and always hoped to one day live and work on a farm of his own. 20 years ago he started his career in manufacturing in Orangeville and has since honed his leadership and business acumen while also running a family business. As a hobby, he has spent several years developing his skills as a teamster driving horses in parades, weddings, festivals and for leisure. A lifelong draft horse enthusiast, Jason is happiest going for an evening drive with his beloved Percheron horses Ike and Duke.
Born in the city, but also exposed to farm environments her entire life, Vikki has grown to love country living. Vikki’s path in the social service field over 20 years ago provided many opportunities to work with children, teenagers, adults and seniors who have autism and other developmental disabilities in many different settings. This field of work has allowed her to grow her skills in communication, customer service, teaching and business.
Our priority has always been our family. Our three children have been actively involved in animal husbandry, working and maintaining the property while also enjoying their ATV’s and the “fun stuff” kids can do on a farm.
